A late Georgian Parliamentary tumbler circa 1800, dedication engraved with 'The Independence of Durham and Rich'd Wharton its defender' within a thistle border with 'No 405' in a sunburst cartouche opposing, height 10cm. N.B - Richard Wharton (1764-1828) was the Conservative MP for Durham between 1802 to 1804 and 1806 to 1820.
