An 1930s travelling wardrobe or steamer trunk, with applied red letters 'Alicia Markova Theatre', the tan coloured linen clad trunk with striped highlights, bound in leather with brass studs and fittings, opening to reveal a hanging section with retractable metal fittings, fourteen wooden hangers and button down cloth cover, the opposite door fitted with four graduated slide drawers each with metal handles and lockable drawer mechanism, external brass fittings marked Eagle Lock Co. USA, Terryville Conn., various travel labels remaining to include two for the Cunard White Star Line Europe, height 102cm x depth 61cm x width 56cm, S/D Provenance: Dame Alicia Markova
