Lot 739 : Estimate £100-£150

Terence Steven 'Steve' McQueen (1930-1980) - Five amateuer 'snapshot' style photographs of Steve McQueen, circa 1964, including a black and white photograph of Steve McQueen sleeping in a car, another with his USA motorcycle trial riding team mates and three colour group photographs that include McQueen's first wife Neile Adams and his motorcycling team mate and stunt double Bud Ekins (probably best known for his stunt work in the films The Great Escape and Bullitt). Photographs measure 5inch by 3.5inch (please note that there are no negatives) Provenance - Steve McQueen and Bud Ekins rode together in the USA Six Days Trials motorcycle team in 1964. They both rode a 650cc Triumph TR6 Trophy motorcycle, built at the Meriden factory. A gentleman called Ted Wassell owned a company that supplied specialist motorcycle parts to Triumph and in 1963/64, is understood to have helped arrange accommodation for the USA Six Days Trials team that included McQueen and Ekins. It is believed that Ted was later invited to the USA as a thank you. Ted is pictured in the brown sweater in two of the colour photographs. Consigned for sale by family members of Ted Wassell.
