A Great Western locomotive name plate Sir Arthur Yorke, Bulldog class 4-4-0, length 176cm. Designed by William Dean GWR's chief locomotive engineer, the class was used for all sorts of work particularly for passenger work in Wales. Built at Swindon in 1906 with the number 3708 but after modification in 1908 it became 3418. The engine was given the name in 1916 and was in service up until August 1949. Sir Arthur Yorke was the chief inspector of railways for the Board of Trade between 1900 and 1913, born in 1848 and died in 1930.
