Clarice Cliff - Applique Bird of Paradise - A large dish form wall plaque circa 1931, hand painted with a stylised red and yellow plumed bird resting to a fruiting black bough with blue leaves over a green ground with yellow, black and red banding, hand painted Applique and Bizarre mark, width 34cm. This rare plaque is only the second example ever to be discovered being one of only four pieces known to exist in this pattern. Consigned from a client in New Zealand the plaque was given as a wedding present to her grandparents in 1931 and been in the family ever since.
