A pair of Aitchison's Boer War patent 1016 aluminum folding binoculars, a pair of Libermann & Gortz 10 x 50 grey painted binoculars , a pair of French Stereo binoculars and a pair of Halina discovery glasses 16 x 50 , two cased (4) NB -Folding binoculars were issued to British officers serving in the Boer War (1899-1902). Patented in the 1880s they were constructed of lightweight aluminum.
