A late 19th Century French automaton white faced pierrot clown playing a mandolin by Leopald Lambert Paris, the key wind operation playing two airs 'Valencia' and 'On the Riviera' , the pierced key in the form of the initials 'LB' with the original clothes reputedly made by his seamstress wife, Eugenie Maria Bourgeois, wearing white silk trouser suit and hat, trimmed with lace pink silk and bobbles, pink socks with white shoes. The back of the head impressed FBJ and numbered 255 for part of Societe Franchise de Fabrication de Bebes et Jouets C 1899, the number 255 is unusual for this factory. Standing on a square red plush covered base concealing the movement, 51cm high, the base marked with the retailers name' Au Nain bleu G.Fauvet Paris, under an associated glass dome and circular ebonised base, 72cm high ILLUSTRATED
