Unknown - Chlidema Carpets, Kidderminster - A collection of assorted late 19th Century original gouache and watercolour 'inspiration' pages to include Aesthetic, Persian and foliate designs, several dated for 1874, various sizes. (qty) Consigned by direct descendants of the owners of the Chlidema mill, these design pages were purchased by the company directors from various other companies (both in Britain and in France) and designers of the time, to use to inspire the designers at the factory. The influence of Christopher Dresser and Owen Jones can be seen in several designs, as well as the then fashionable Japanese / Chinoiserie style.
