An 18th Century Williamite drinking glass, engraved in the late 19th century by Franz Tietze with an equestrian portrait of King William, the reverse with 'St Boyne 1st July 1690, TC, SC', raised on knopped stems and folded feet, 15.5cm. (2) Franz Tietze (1842-1932) was a Bohemian engraver of glass in 18th century style who was brought to Dublin in 1865 by Thomas and Richard Pugh, Irish manufacturers of flint glass. He engraved a number of genuine eighteenth century glasses in the historical manner during the late 19th century, height 16.5cm.
