Lot 1093: Sold for £240 hammer

Estimate £150-£200

A 1950s autograph album containing a page with the signatures in blue fountain pen of Stan Laurel and in blue ballpoint pen by Oliver Hardy, signed either side of a coloured vignette depicting the duo, further dedicated below in blue fountain pen 'Hello David', other signatures include signed to one page, early 1950s players of Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club, including Billy Wright, Burt Williams and Roy Pritchard.
Provenance - The autograph book was the property of the current owner's husband. The signatures of Laurel and Hardy were apparently obtained when he went along to watch them as a boy at the Hippodrome in Wolverhampton (possibly March 1954).

Condition report
Condition of the autograph book is fair, as there is some bruising to the corners of the covers and the spine is split. The page edges are a little grubby, but the Laurel and Hardy page (on pale blue paper) is a centre-fold and the condition is good with clear signatures and a well coloured vignette. The Wolverhampton Wanderers signatures are on a single buff coloured page and are all signed in blue ballpoint pen. The page size is 9.5cm x 15.5cm.
