Lot 1227: Sold for £4,200 hammer

Estimate £600-£800

An early 19th Century Japanese lacquered cabinet on stand, the interior fitted with an arrangement of ten drawers painted with figures, bridges and garden scenes in gilt on a black background, enclosed by a pair of similar decorated doors on a later block chamfered leg stand, height 157cm x depth 50cm x width 92cm.

Condition report
Some light splits to the bottom sections of the front doors probably due to sun damage, also old gouge marks and some worm holes note. To the left front panel there is staining to the colour which may clean. The interior decorated drawers appear bright and fresh . The bottom gilt corner mount is damaged and split. The base is a different colour so please make your own assumption as to age and date
