A 19th Century carved giltwood Chinese or Burmese figure of shakyamuni buddha, seated in lotus position, hands cast in Bhumisparsha mudra on stepped polychrome painted throne base, height 31cm.

Condition report
extensive paint loss to the throne base crack to the legs, approx. 4cm in length wear and discolouration to the gilt throughout The carving is sectional with the buddha 'pegged' in to the throne section, and therefore not firmly secure.
