Lot

Lot 551: Sold for £170 hammer

Estimate £200-£300

A Victorian walnut credenza, with two glazed doors flanking the central inlaid cabinet, with gilt metal mounts above a plinth base, height 108cm, width 177cm and depth 40cm, S/D

Condition report
There are some scuffs and scratches to the top and some wear to the ebonised border of the top. The gilt metal mounts are OK but have been overpainted. There is some damage to the top left hand corner of the left hand door panel - it would appear that the door frame has flexed and as a result has split just above the line inlay and there is also a small patch of veneer loss to the same area. Some other further small patches of veneer loss to the same door and around the base. There are no splits to the sides. Some sections of over painting / staining to the frieze and side panels, covering some old filled repairs. Key is present.
