Condition report
Condition of the enamel is generally good to both the clock and the vases. Clock - there are some tarnish spots to the top of the case. There is some scratching around the front of the case just beneath the door. There is some wear to the gilded finish of the wooden plinth and also fading and wear to the edges of the purple velvet top. There is no key. There is a pinhead sized blister or frit just beneath the rim of one of the vases. Both vases retain their covers. There is a chip to the gesso edge of one of the plinths. One of the bun feet is woodworm damaged. There is a chip to the edge of the gilding to the other plinth - this has been overpainted. There is general wear to the gilded finish of each of the plinths and the purple velvet tops are worn and faded. In our opinion this is an original clock set and information supplied this clock set was purchased from Harrods over thirty years ago.
