ENGLISH SCHOOL (c.1850) - Portrait of William Barnes (1810-1878), bust length, oval, oil on canvas laid down on board, framed 40cm x 34cm.
William Barnes established a glass making factory in Birmingham specialising his Venetian style of glass.

Condition report
Soome overpainting to face and minor areas of background. Shrinkage of paint particularly to sitters jacket and general crazing. presented in a palin gilt oval frame.
