An 18th Century 22ct quarter repeater pair cased English verge pocket watch, circa 1740, the outer case pierced and detailed with a woman holding an anchor being crowned with a laurel wreath by Father Time with a cherub in attendance, marked SG (possibly Stephen Goujon), encompassing a pierced inner case detailed with floral scrolls and an engraved grotesque mask, the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, opening to diamond set cock and cylindrical columns, back plate signed Robert Higgs, London and numbered 2435 and housed under a conforming dust cover, diameter of inner case 42mm, outer case 51mm.

Condition report
Movement running, dial with a fine hairline running from 8 o'clock to under theRoman 12, and a scratch between Roman numbers 5 and 6, this piece has been refurbished, and has been de and reconstructed. The minute hand looks like it has been replaced, repeater mechanism working. Viewing highly recommended
