Lot 814: Sold for £95 hammer

Estimate £80-£120

An early 20th Century mahogany veneered decanter box with chequer strung inlay around the base and with twin brass carry handles, the hinged lid opening to reveal three mouth blown square decanters with gilded decoration, together with a smaller later matched 'harlequin' replacement, also with a drinking glass en-suite with bladed knop, the box measuring height 23cm, width 19cm and depth 19cm, S/D.

Condition report
Some splits and minor losses to the veneer of the box. There is no key. As mentioned one of the decanters is a later smaller replacement. The drinking glass appears to be OK. Some wear to the gilded decoration on the decanters. There is some deep scratching to the rim of one of the decanters. The interior of the box is felt lined.
