A bronze World War Two aerodrome station or scramble bell, the crown shaped top stamped with a broad arrow mark and letter 'T' beneath an iron suspension ring, with Air Ministry crown cypher and dated 1942, with later replacement clapper, overall height 32cm, width across the bottom 27cm, S/D.

Condition report
The clapper is a later replacement. numerous small dents to both the outside and inside of the bell. Some remnants of red paint to the crown top, the crown emblem, Air Ministry cypher and date. The suspension ring has some surface corrosion. Original origin unknown. Inherited by the present owner from her father who used to run an off licence / cafe premises in the 1960s / 70s. The bell was used as a shop bell. Height of suspension ring on top of bell is 3.5cm. Height of bell without suspension ring is 28.5cm. Width across the bottom in mm is 270mm. The clapper can still be attached to the bell inside.
