Lot 903: Sold for £850 hammer

Estimate £500-£800

A 19th Century French champleve enamelled brass clock garniture, the eight day movement striking on a gong, the dial with Arabic numerals over a mercury compensated pendulum, suspended in an oval glazed bevelled panel case on circular base, height 32cm, flanked by a pair of matching urns, height 28cm (3) S/D

Condition report
Key and pendulum are both present. There is a small dent to the rear of the case above the rear door. There is a narrow gap in the decorative banding to the rear of the clock where the enamel has 'missed' during the manufacturing process. The glass panels are in good order. There is some wear around the winding holes. The mount to one of the urns is loosely attached. The case of the clock and the urns are slightly dull in appearance and would benefit from a polish.
