An 18th Century black chinoiserie longcase clock with eight-day striking movement, the dial with rocking ship automaton, silvered chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed Thomas Jenkinson, Sandwich, enclosed by a pillared arched glazed hood over a long trunk door detailed with figures in a terrace garden scene, later painted sides, on canted plinth base, height 212cm.
Condition report
The clock case has had refinishing and some later painted sides, the dial has been refinished and restored, was working in the house but no guarantee. Winder and pendulum present , please make your own assumptions
