A late 18th Century oak longcase clock with eight-day movement striking on a bell, the hood with reeded pillars enclosing a 13 inch brass broken arch dial with moonphase, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, signed 'Ios. Barnit, Birmingm' [sic] (Joseph Barnitt Birmingham), height 205cm, S/D. N.B. Joseph Barnitt is listed in F.J. Britten's 'Old Clocks and Their Makers' as a clock maker at 23 London-Prentice Street, Birmingham in 1768.

Condition report
The hood has been re-constructed with a plywood top. The glass to the hood door is cracked. There is some evidence of old woodworm in places. The feet are missing from the base. Pendulum, winder and two weights are present, as is the trunk door key.
