A late 19th to early 20th Century taxidermy head study of a juvenile gharial or gavial crocodile (Gavialis gangeticus) with inset glass eyes, mounted to a wooden shield back bracket shelf, length of head 39cm and dimensions of bracket 56cm high and 17.5cm wide, S/D Provenance - Taken by the present owner's grandfather when he served in the army in India, circa 1900.

Condition report
There appear to be a few teeth missing. There is a split to the skin behind the left hand side of the head, that appears to have been filled at some point.
