A pair of early 20th Century circus animal cart panels, each with a relief moulded gesso panel depicting a lion and a tiger, within painted pine cage effect frames, height 85cm and width 110cm, some losses, S/D. (2) NB - Believed by the present owner to have belonged to the Ringling Brothers Circus in the USA, early 20th Century.
Condition report
The gesso panels have some old cracks and splits and repairs to the same. There is some loss to the painted detail of the central panels. Some scuffs and losses commensurate with age and use to the outer frames.
