Lot 1198: Sold for £160 hammer

Estimate £100-£150

An Arts and Crafts oak bookcase, with cornice pediment above leaded glazed doors and a double door cupboard with copper strapwork hinges, all raised to a plinth base, height 197cm, width 102cm and depth 37cm.

Condition report
Glazing and leading OK - firm and intact. Some scuffs and scratches to the edges of the bookcase in places. The bookcase is in one piece and does not break down any smaller. It has been re-polished at some point. The doors have at some point been removed, presumably when the bookcase was repolished and the screws to the hinges are later replacements. There is a key to both the lock on the upper and lower doors, although two of the screws are missing to the lock plate on the upper doors. There is a 4cm split to the back board. Three adjustable shelves.
