Attributed to Bernard Leach - A hand thrown shallow bowl decorated with handpainted stylised floral decoration and banded rim in tones of brown against a buff glaze ground, unmarked, diameter 21cm Provenance - Accompanying this bowl is a letter dated July 1985 from Miss M Rose of the Little Gallery stating ... this bowl or plate was his first effort solo ... He in turn years later gave it to Muriel Rose of the Little Gallery just off Sloane Street who in 1940 gave it to Edith Flint her senior assistant at the Little Gallery who was helping with disposal of the stock as the shop was closed owing to the war in 1944. Edith came to live with one and gave the said bowl to my grandson" who is the present vendors grandfather."
