Andromeda - A 19th Century cameo glass plaque by George Woodall for Thomas Webb & Sons, cased in opal white over a ruby ground and cut with a nude female figure chained to coastal rocks with seagulls flying over head, all within a double line border, bears engraved signature to the lower right margins, contained within the original leather covered and gilt embossed presentation case, measures 16.5 cm tall by 11.5 cm wide. ILLUSTRATED Provenance: One of only three cameos of Andromeda, two remain within the Woodall family. The figure was modelled on George Woodall's daughter Connie. This piece was on loan to Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery in the 1970's to the 1990's, it has also been on loan to Broadfield House 'Legends in Glass' exhibition held in 2000.
