A William IV linen needlework sampler worked by Elizabeth Crow aged 9 in the year of our Lord 1835 in cross and line stitches with alphabet in capitals and lower case above the motto 'There is beyond the sky, a heaven of joy and love, and holy children when they die, go to that world above', to the sides with exotic birds and flowers framed in a floral border, the centre panel later re-worked in crewel stitch with brighter coloured cotton threads, unframed, glued to board, 52cm x 56cm
