An Arts and Crafts mahogany bookcase cabinet in the manner of Shapland and Petter, with repousse copper frieze panel titled 'Reading Maketh A Full Man', over three leaded doors and tapered square column supports, the base section fitted with an arrangement of three drawers and two cupboards around a central alcove, with copper handles and strapwork hinges, height 217cm, width 164cm and depth 57cm, S/D.
Condition report
The door locks are stamped Gough, Wolverhampton
One of the drawer handles is detached but is present. Some damage and losses to sections of the moulded trim. Splitting to the left hand side of the base section. Some scuffs and scratches. A small spindle to the left hand side is missing.
