Lot 959: Sold for £130 hammer

Estimate £100-£150

A George III and later oak longcase clock with 30-hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with cornice pediment and pilaster supports over the trunk door and with bracket feet to the base, with later associated movement and 12inch brass dial with matted centre and corner spandrels, the chapter ring signed Jn.o Morris, Pershore, No 417, height 202cm.

Condition report
The case has been varnished. Evidence of old woodworm flight holes to the hood and the case, does not appear to be current. The seat board inside the hood is a loose panel that appears to be later than the case and, as the dial does not sit very squarely within the hood, indicates that the dial and movement may be later associated to the case. A single weight and pendulum are present.
