Lot 1017: Sold for £340 hammer

Estimate £100-£150

A Victorian armchair with exposed walnut frame, carved in relief with foliate detail over cabriole front legs, upholstered in floral cream coloured damask, S/D.

Condition report
The chair appears to have been through a restorer's workshop at some point and has been re-upholstered and the frame repolished. Some scuffs, scratches and minor dents to the frame commensurate with age. One of the joints has opened slightly to the rear upright but there is no 'play' to the frame. There are some upholstery tack heads and tack holes from previous upholstery, that are visible to the rear upright sections of the frame, just above the seat line. The upholstery is in good condition. Consigned to auction sale from a local private client who has recently moved house.
