A composite 19th Century and later Japanese Samurai suit of armour, comprising a rivetted and lacquered Kabuto (helmet) with leather interior, with five-tier Shikoro (neck guard) and black lacquered menp- (faceplate), lacquered leather Duo (chest armour), fabric and sewn lacquered leather Kusazuri (hip groin protector), with further leather and fabric Kote (armoured sleeves), and Suneate (shin guards), with later additional clothing, the armour together with Japanese Katana sword, blade length 51cm, S/D.
